One of my favorite family memories is when my uncle and aunt came out from South Carolina last year, and we went fishing. I choose this memory because it was the first time I got to see them in three years. I had so much fun with my family. They had a child named Alexander I have never seen before, so I was excited to see my cousin as well.
So, when we went on this fishing, it was only Elizabeth, Camden, my dad, my uncle, and me. We woke up at 5 a.m. so that we could hit the road at 5:30 a.m. Our trip was 2 hours long, and we wanted a head start. When we got there I helped my dad and uncle unload the boat onto the lake, while Elizabeth and Camden went to the bathroom. It took 10 to 15 minutes to find a good starting spot. We moved around every few hours to see if we could find better fish. Most of the time it worked. When we ended the trip, it was around 4 p.m. My dad and uncle went to go clean and cut the fish, but the electric knife wouldn’t work. So, we put the fish back in the bucket and went to a gas station for ice to keep them cool. We waited till we got home to clean and cut the fish.
I had a lot of fun that day. My favorite part of fishing is the rocking of the waves against the boat. Most people get sea sick from it, but I love it. It was a lot of fun seeing my uncle and aunt again. They had changed so much, and I’m glad I got to see it. I wonder when they will come out next time? I hope it’s soon.
